Some Secrets Should Never Be Kept

Some Secrets Should Never Be Kept is a beautifully illustrated picture book that sensitively broaches the
subject of keeping our children safe from sexual interference. This book has been written and illustrated in a way that is neither frightening nor confronting. It has been written by Jayneen Sanders - an author, teacher and mother of three daughters. As Jayneen says in her ‘Note from the Author' she wrote this book
so parents, carers, teachers and health professionals had a tool to open up the essential discussion on self-protection. Jayneen also believes that through story we can discuss difficult topics. Some Secrets Should Never Be Kept is an important book and one that all children need to hear. The key message is that there is nothing so terrible you can't tell someone you trust. Forewarned is forearmed. The discussion
questions at the back of the book are a valuable resource designed to guide the reader and child through the essential discussion.
