"This
report sets out findings from a secondary analysis of data
gathered between 1982 and 1988 as part of a study of disruptions
in permanent placements conducted by Strathclyde Regional
Council and supported by the then Scottish Office. The author of
this secondary analysis was the senior researcher of the
original SRC team who undertook the work. The author has
undertaken and funded the re-analysis of the data at his own
request. The views and opinions expressed in the report are
those of the author and are not necessarily those of the
Scottish Executive"
As the research was conducted within
Strathclyde Regional Council these were the Regions / Councils
which took part:

and adoption I have included a link to the British
Association for Adoption & Fostering: www.baaf.org.uk

The Scottish Office
was a department of the United
Kingdom Government
from 1885 until 1999, exercising a wide range of government
functions in relation to Scotland
under the control of the Secretary
of State for Scotland.
Following the establishment of the Scottish
Parliament in
1999, most of its work was transferred to the newly
established Scottish
