NICE guideline on child abuse and neglect – Just published

Earlier this year  BASPCAN contributed to the consultation on draft guideline for child abuse and neglect. The revised guideline has now been published and can be found on the NICE website. You can also find the supporting evidence as well as all the stakeholder comments that were received during consultation and the responses to these comments. NICE has also produced an equality impact assessment to support the guideline.

The recommendations in the guideline have been included in a NICE Pathway, which is an online tool that brings together all related NICE guidance and associated products in a set of interactive, topic-based diagrams.

This guideline is essential reading for all practitioners whose work brings them in contact with children and families and for commissioners and managers of services  for children and young people in England.

A number of the points raised by BASPCAN in our feedback have led to amendments to the published guideline, so many thanks to all those who contributed and especially to Wendy Thorogood who led our consultation with members.
